Worked as part of a group to design a prototype table tennis ball launcher for recreational practice. The brief required a battery-powered mechanical system that could launch four balls in sequence into alternating target zones while fitting within a limited storage volume. The project involved developing a requirement specification, producing concept drawings, comparing design options, creating a CAD assembly, preparing engineering drawings, and compiling an order spreadsheet for parts and materials. My work focused on translating the design concept into a manufacturable mechanical system, considering constraints such as motor loading, workshop processes, assembly, cost, and reliability. This strengthened my ability to work through the full engineering design process, from concept selection to CAD modelling and preparation for manufacture.
